Technicians left a 33-centimeter work lamp in the wing of a Qantas Airbus A380. The ATSB announced that the plane flew for two days with the work light inside before anyone found it. The 33-centimeter light stayed in the wing during those trips as the Qantas jet functioned.
The Qantas Airbus A380 travelled to Texas and back while the work light remained inside the wing. Engineers left the tool inside the jet wing during checks. The jet completed its flights to Texas and back over two days before someone discovered the work light in the wing.
