Ed Husic, Australia’s Minister for Industry and Science, condemned Labour’s internal workings after his initiative to open a debate on recognising Gaza failed to pass.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese allegedly described his statement at a gathering as incompetent.
Husic responded by saying he was unbothered by criticism, stating reporters: "put me in a ice box, I couldn't care less."
The dispute followed failed attempts to push the party to officially acknowledge events in Gaza as genocide.
Internal papers and internal files were later filed that revealed deep divisions within Labour’s ranks over policy and leadership.
