One Nation MP cries as he confirms he is gay in first speech
Newly elected South Australian One Nation MP Jason Virgo confirmed he is homosexual with an Indonesian Muslim boyfriend during his maiden speech to parliament.

His record includes activism for LGBTQIA+ rights and prior association with Labor Party and the Sex Party. In May 2026 he said he revealed he is openly gay and has an Indonesian Muslim partner. His election helped boost One Nation in South Australia as leader Cory Bernardi won a Legislative Council position.
