Josh Worrell, Adelaide Crows forward, who is a regular player, was in a serious crash that occurred Friday before training period for the upcoming Gold Coast match.
The accident hurt a local pedestrian, who authorities then took to the hospital.
Worrell was not arrested at the scene of the incident.
Teammates told reporters on the sidelines Worrell seemed upset after the crash.
Police now investigate the incident as reported, and have released a statement to the press.
The club has indicated they will review if Worrell can play in the game against Gold Coast, pending fitness assessment, if fit, and will look at the decision shortly.
