Tottenham Hotspur completed an £85 million deal for midfielder Mateus Fernandes on Friday. West Ham United accepted the offer after weeks of negotiations. Fernandes cleared his health checks and signed the contract straight away. Manchester United had shown interest earlier this year. Tottenham matched the asking price to close the deal. The midfielder will now join Spurs’ first team before pre-season starts. The club announced the agreement after all documents were signed late on Friday night.
