Meta has agreed to provide up to 18 billion US dollars to resolve actions brought by US states over social media addiction and risks to young users.
The major deal concludes legal claims from California and other states related to adolescent usage issues on its popular apps.
Following the resolution, Meta also accepted major operational adjustments on Facebook and Instagram. The agreement settles pending litigation in the United States tied to online risks to children and teens.
