Penelope Cruz currently has three films in the mix for Oscars this awards cycle: "La Bola Negra," "The Invite," and "Bunker." That is notable. One actor linked to three contending films in the same cycle does not happen much, and both Variety and IMDb took note of it.

Talk of a second Oscar honor for Cruz has already started. She took home her first Academy Award in 2009 for "Vicky Cristina Barcelona." None of the three films has clearly moved ahead as the leader so far.
