Residents in Richmond Shire have been told to stay away from rivers following a crocodile killed a dog. The attack happened deep inland, some 660km from the coast. A local saw that animal drag the dog into that water near one riverbank. The dead dog was later found by police. The council says crocodiles in this area are highly unusual. They are asking people to stay far from water until the reptile is caught. Similar warnings followed recent sightings in other remote parts of Australia.
