Riley Greene hit a home run and went 2-for-4, scoring a run, as Detroit beat the Texas Rangers by a shutout score on Saturday. Matt Vierling played third for the Tigers. Spencer Flaherty set down eight straight batters before the bullpen finished the game. Detroit’s relievers held the shutout perfect. After the win, the club named Greene, Spencer McGonigle and Jake Dingler as its MLB All-Star representatives. The selections were shared by the team right after the game. Greene’s homer was the sole blast on the scoreboard. The Tigers will travel to their next series with the All-Star trio confirmed.
