The Rugby Football Union plans to hand England head coach Steve Borthwick a contract extension. The planned agreement would keep him in charge beyond the 2027 Rugby World Cup and past the 2028 Six Nations.
Borthwick would remain in charge of England at each tournament under the planned deal. His time in charge would carry on after the next men's Rugby World Cup, and then through England's Six Nations campaign in the year that followed.
The new contract would keep him in the role after the 2028 tournament had concluded.
