Two people died suddenly at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday when vehicles slammed into each other on the busy Highway 401. The two male drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. Five more passengers suffered small cuts. Thick scattered wreckage covered the left lanes. Cleanup crews finished by late morning. Authorities closed that stretch of road. Investigators wrapped up checks by around just before noon.
