Aryna Sabalenka said Wimbledon’s rule that bars dogs from player areas is overly harsh.
She said the ban saddens her and is inequitable to players who keep animals.
She urged the tournament to change the rule to respond promptly.
The ban applies to all player areas throughout the week, each day, stopping players from having dogs nearby, which feels harsh.
Sabalenka made the remarks on 2 July 2026, after the championships began.
She told the board the rule is deeply upsetting and asked them to allow dogs back the player zones.
