A beluga whale was relocated from Marineland in Niagara Falls, Ontario to a Chicago aquarium. It died a short time later. The move took place before the death.
Marineland also transferred four dolphins and two belugas to an aquarium in Spain. Now the park no longer houses dolphins. Only belugas continue to reside there.
The transfer left the facility quieter. Staff monitor water quality and animal health. Visitors notice a smaller number of animals. The park’s visitor count declined.
The wooded surroundings remain the same. The water remains strong. The park houses only a few belugas. Visitors see fewer animal performances. The water remains clear.
