On July 16, 2026, NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft came out of sleep mode. It then positioned itself about 5.8 billion miles from Earth. The probe sits in the Kuiper Belt now. Ground crews checked every system after the wake-up call. No issues were found in the tests. The probe will travel through the belt and observe what’s there.
