China's Tianwen-2 reached near-Earth asteroid Kamoʻoalewa on its scheduled date. The probe captured the first detailed photos of the object called Earth’s mini moon. It started scientific tests while in deep space as it was 1 billion kilometers from Earth. State media shared live updates throughout the operation as teams confirmed the success.
